The "other" Evan REES from Kent Co. DE







Evan was a popular name among the REES / REESE / REECE families in early DE.  Perhaps the most well-documented was Evan REES (1692-1737), son of John REES & Eleanor EMPSON), who married Eleanor JONES in 1713.  His parents, siblings, and children are listed below:

Our Evan, on the other hand, was born between 1707 and 1710, probably in Wales, and married Sarah LEWIS in 1731.  They had at least one child, Joseph, born in 1732 in Kent Co.  The family moved to Congaree, SC, by 1750 and Evan died there in 1757, for which death a will is extant.  His parents are not known, nor did he have any known siblings.
