128. Leo Hampton REES was born on 1 May 1845 in Elk Prarie, Jackson Co., IL. He died on 23 Jan 1892 in MO or AR. NOTE: In the 1850 & 1860 census there is a Hamilton listed that would be the same age. There was a Hampton found in the IGI who was born in 1845 in Jackson Co., IL. Tom Snyder, in an old family group sheet, had him listed as Leo Hamilton. Although some have both names listed, Tom Snyder believes that Hamilton & Leo Hampton are one & the same. The name Leo Hampton came from Mildred Stapp; however when Dianna Snyder visited with her, she called him "Leo Hamilton". When Dianna noted that her records said "Leo Hampton" she said, "Oh, I forgot." Which is correct remains to be determined. For now we are going with Leo Hampton since Hampton was a family name. On the other hand, he has a grandson named William Hamilton.

Leo Hampton REES and Lucinda B. KILMER were married on 11 Oct 1864 in Murphysboro, Jackson Co., IL. Lucinda B. KILMER (daughter of ) was born on 6 Mar 1849 in DeSoto, Jackson Co., IL. She died about 1906 in Stoddard Co., MO. Leo Hampton REES and Lucinda B. KILMER had the following children:
