4. Mary REESE was born on 17 Aug 1757 in Richland Co., SC.2 Another source has birth year as 1758. She died on 19 Oct 1839 in Cayce, Lexington Co., SC. She was buried in Arthur Cemetery, Cayce, Lexington Co., SC. She is reference number 1066. The following is from Bill Smith:
Mary REESE (1757-1839), daughter of Rev. Joseph and Ann REYNOLDS
REESE, married Captain Hargrove AUTHUR, a native of Caroline County,
Virginia, who died August 27, 1817, age 65 yrs. Both are interred in the
ARTHUR cemetery near Cayce, Lexington County, South Carolina. Their
graves are marked. Captain Hargrove ARTHUR was a very intelligent
businessman. He was also a Revolutionary officer. Hargrove and his wife
had 10 issue.

Mary REESE and Hargrove ARTHUR were married before 1785 in Cayce, Lexington Co., SC.3 Hargrove ARTHUR was born in 1752 in Caroline Co., VA. He died on 27 Aug 1817 in Cayce, Lexington Co., SC. He was buried in Arthur Cemetery, Cayce, Lexington Co., SC. He is reference number 346. The following is from Bill Smith:
Hargrove Arthur (1752-1817), b. in Caroline County Virginia, d.
Cayce, Lexington County, South Carolina. So far, he is the beginning of
the Arthur family.
Three brothers, William, Hargrove, and Ambrose, moved from Caroline
County, Virginia, before the Revolutionary War (about 1765), to South
Carolina, setteling in what is now Lexington County.
The second of these three brothers, married Mary Reese, the daughter
of Rev. Joseph Reese of Pincushion Place, before 1785, when Rebecca
Arthur was born in South Carolina.

Hargrove and his brother Ambrose are both listed on the 1790
Orangeburgh Dist, South Carolina census.
Hargrove is on page 104, number 97, and Ambrose on page 97.
